New Kitten

I got a new kitten on Sunday. No, my kitty Checkers isn't dead. He's still the way he's been... all sleepy and not eating his kitty food.

This little kitten was a stray that lived outside of one of my friend's houses... and he needed a home. He's needed a home for a few months, but my parent's didn't agree to take him in until recently.
He's a little black kitten who's really lovable and soft~ <3

My boyfriend and I decided to name him duckbeard (with all lowercase), after chuckyhacks' dog, duckbeard (search chuckyhacks on google and you'll figure out who he is looking at his proboards posts). What a wonderful name, yes?

Poor Kitty.

My cat went to the vet yesterday. They said he has a liver disease, and is anemic. He won't eat, so they put him on pills to stimulate his appetite. They also gave him some special soft cat food, but if his appetite doesn't improve (he's supposed to have a half-can a day), he'll have to visit the vet again.

So far, he can't even finish a quarter of a can. :< All he ever does is sleep, and in his favourite spot too. I have drawers underneath my bed, and he LOVES to sleep in them.
When he was just a small kitten, he and the other kittens of his litter would sleep together in that drawer. It was so adorable. <3 I can understand why he likes it.

Because he hasn't been eating, he's lost so much weight. During the summer, he weighed about 16 pounds. Now he only weighs 9.6. I just hope he can get better; I've had him ever since he was born. May 17, 2006 was that date.

Poor kitty. But I love him.
